Tax lawyer Shyamal Chandra Das severely injured by stone-throwing at Turna Nishitha Express in Brahmanbaria; human chain protest held

On the night of June 22-23, 2026, unidentified miscreants threw a stone at the Chittagong-bound Turna Nishitha Express train near Talshahar Railway Station, Ashuganj, Brahmanbaria. The stone struck a passenger, tax lawyer Shyamal Chandra Das, in his right eye, resulting in permanent loss of vision and requiring surgical intervention. A subsequent human chain protest was organized at Brahmanbaria Railway Station to condemn the attack.
