Two children died by drowning in the Shitalakshya River
On Friday, July 31, 2026, two school-going children (Labibul Al Hasan, 10, and Raihan Islam Rabbi, 12) died by drowning while bathing in the Shitalakshya River near the Char-Sindur Bridge in Uttar Muktarpur, Kaliganj, Gazipur. Locals recovered one child at the scene, while the other was declared dead upon arrival at a nearby hospital in Palash.
