Three Deaths in Turag River Following Police Pursuit
On June 22, 2026, a group of individuals on a trawler near Ashulia Cattle Market Trawler Ghat jumped into the Turag River to escape a police pursuit. The bodies of three victims—Md. Sumon (18), Rony Molla (35), and Arif Hasan Rakib (20)—were recovered from the river by the Fire Service and Naval Police between June 24 and June 26, 2026.
