Worker killed after being crushed between two boats during sand extraction

A 20-year-old worker named Rifat died on Wednesday morning after being crushed between two motorized boats during illegal sand extraction in the Mahadeo River in Kalmakanda, Netrokona. Local residents report that over 200 motorized boats have been involved in illegal sand extraction daily for about a month, ignoring court bans and causing severe environmental damage.
