Toxic smoke from bitumen burning near a school, 4 students hospitalized

On August 19, 2026, four students at Uttar Khanebari Government Primary School in Feni fell ill due to toxic smoke and odor caused by burning bitumen for road maintenance nearby. The students were taken to Feni 250-bed General Hospital, where two were admitted for treatment and two were released after receiving primary care.
