Measles Outbreak in Rajshahi Region: 55 Deaths and 939 Hospital Admissions at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital

An ongoing measles outbreak at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) has resulted in 55 deaths and 939 hospital admissions as of May 6, 2026. Initially noting high impact on infants under 9 months old in March, the crisis expanded, leading to isolation measures and a mass vaccination campaign targeting 56,600 children across five districts. Currently, 111 patients are receiving treatment in the isolation center.
