The Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA) has launched a crackdown and issued warnings against the use of adulterated rose and keora water in food. Investigations, including a mobile court operation in Demra, Dhaka, revealed that some manufacturers were using harmful chemicals intended for kidney dialysis in these products. Authorities are now mandating proper labelling and warning consumers to avoid products that lack clear composition details or appropriate 'food grade' certification.
District or Upazila level government authorities
BFSA conducted mobile court raids, fined the manufacturer two lakh BDT, seized harmful chemicals, and ordered the withdrawal of products from the market.
