Girder bridge roof collapses after casting in Barishal

A girder bridge being constructed over the Ahmedkathi canal in Gournadi, Barishal, collapsed shortly after its roof was cast on Wednesday. Project officials allege the contractor failed to notify them before casting, while the contractor attributes the collapse to heavy rain and rising river water damaging the scaffolding.
