Mother-in-law and daughter-in-law killed in Shanti Paribahan bus accident in Bakshiganj, Jamalpur

On October 10, 2026, two women, Ufeza Begum (65) and her daughter-in-law Farida Begum (40), were killed when a Shanti Paribahan bus traveling from Dhaka to Roumari, Kurigram, lost control and ran them over in the Nilakkhia Thakurpara area of Bakshiganj, Jamalpur, at 6:00 AM. Reports suggest the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel. Police have seized the bus and detained the helper, while the driver fled the scene.
