Riverbank erosion at Ariyal Khan River puts 97.5 crore taka Litton Chowdhury bridge at risk in Shibchar, Madaripur

Severe riverbank erosion along the Ariyal Khan River in Shibchar, Madaripur, is threatening the structural stability of the 97.5 crore taka 'Liton Chowdhury' bridge. Since June 2025, approximately 200 meters of the riverbank have eroded, and the situation remains critical during the 2026 monsoon season, posing a collapse risk to the bridge serving over 100,000 people.
