Rising Teesta river water floods low-lying areas of Hatibandha
Heavy rainfall and upstream flow caused the Teesta river to rise 13 cm above the danger mark at the Dalia barrage point on August 5, 2026. This led to flash flooding in Hatibandha upazila, Lalmonirhat, submerging homes and roads, and forcing families to seek shelter.
