18 Years of Suffering Due to Stagnant Water and Odor in Patuakhali

For 18 years, 75,000 residents across nine villages in Patuakhali Sadar and Dumki upazilas have suffered from chronic waterlogging and foul odors. The crisis stems from poorly planned canal dredging and construction of restrictive sluice gates by the Water Development Board, leading to severe agricultural damage, pollution, and health risks for both humans and livestock.
