A speedboat carrying eight passengers from Sandwip's Guptachhara Ghat to Chattogram ran out of fuel shortly after departure on Saturday, August 15, 2026. The vessel drifted for four hours in rough seas before landing in the mangroves near Bhaterkhil in Sitakunda. All eight passengers were rescued safely.
