Residents guarding cracked embankment in Tala, Satkhira; authorities absent for 3 days

Residents of four villages in Kheshra Union, Tala, Satkhira, have been guarding a critical section of the Kopotakshi river embankment for three days following the appearance of new cracks. A partial breach on September 12, 2026, was contained by villagers, but the structure remains unstable, threatening to flood over 100 homes, agricultural land, and local fish farms. Despite reports, the Water Development Board has not taken action.
