Extensive crop loss due to waterlogging in Kishoreganj

Prolonged heavy rainfall combined with drainage congestion due to unplanned embankments and blocked sluice gates caused severe waterlogging in Kishoreganj district. A total of 13,479 hectares of Boro rice fields were submerged, affecting approximately 52,500 farmers with an estimated economic loss of 300 crore BDT.
