Missile attack on MV Cape Dao off Oman coast

On September 23, 2026, the bulk carrier MV Cape Dao was struck by two missiles off the coast of Oman, resulting in an engine room fire. Among the 27 crew members on board, one Indian national was killed, and the remaining 26, including a Bangladeshi Chief Engineer, were rescued by the Royal Navy of Oman.
