National Anti-Dengue Task Force Operation: Anti-mosquito drives and restaurant inspections in Gulshan-2, Dhaka

On June 24, 2026, a national task force led by the State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives conducted an anti-larval operation in Gulshan-2 (specifically Roads 107 and 112), Dhaka. The initiative targeted Aedes mosquito breeding sites during the monsoon season as part of a three-month campaign by the Dhaka North City Corporation. Inspections covered construction sites, residential buildings, and businesses. One restaurant was fined 50,000 BDT for harboring significant quantities of larvae in an abandoned container. Awareness campaigns were conducted to encourage residents to clear stagnant water.
