Flash flood in Gomastapur, Chapainawabganj destroys Boro paddy crops

Flash floods from upstream and continuous rain have submerged thousands of hectares of paddy fields in Gomostapur, Chapainawabganj. The flooding, caused by water flowing from India via the Punarbhaba River, submerged the Bilkuzain Bill starting around May 4, 2026, causing significant crop damage and economic distress to hundreds of farmers.
