Fisherman Aminur Rahman Gazi killed by Forest Department patrol in Sundarbans; legal action and retaliation follow

A 45-year-old fisherman, Aminur Rahman Gazi, was killed by gunfire from a Forest Department patrol team on May 13, 2026, in the Sundarbans area near Koyra, Khulna and Shyamnagar, Satkhira. The incident led to a murder case against two forest officials and a retaliatory mob attack on the local forest office which injured five forest staff.
