Waterlogging and leech infestation prevent farmers from harvesting paddy in Mirsharai

Heavy rainfall in Phenafuni village, Chattogram, has caused severe waterlogging in over 100 acres of paddy fields, with total area affected reaching 300 acres. The presence of leeches in the stagnant water has made it impossible for farmers to harvest their crops, leading to significant financial losses and food insecurity. The local administration has promised to address the blocked Govaniya-Abutorab canal responsible for the waterlogging but has yet to take action.
