Fire at a gas lighter factory in Kadamtali, Keraniganj
A fire broke out at a gas lighter factory near Al Baraka Hospital in Kadamtali, Keraniganj, Dhaka, on April 4, 2026, resulting in six deaths and two injuries. Seven units of the Fire Service and Civil Defence brought the blaze under control. The Minister of Labour and Employment visited the site and the injured at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, announcing financial assistance of 2 lakh BDT for families of the deceased and 1 lakh BDT for the injured. A five-member investigation committee has been formed to determine the cause of the fire.
