89 sluice gates of Jalakadar canal in Banshkhali are non-functional

All 89 sluice gates on the Jalakadar canal in Banshkhali, Chattogram, are currently non-functional, leading to significant waterlogging and drainage issues during the monsoon. The Water Development Board is initiating limited re-excavation and drafting a long-term development project proposal to replace the gates and restore the canal.
