Government directives and collective effort to combat nationwide dengue outbreak

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is spearheading efforts to address the ongoing dengue outbreak across Bangladesh. Following a meeting at the Secretariat on October 13, 2026, the government issued directives for neighborhood-level miking and the inclusion of awareness messages in Friday prayer sermons. Additionally, citizens have been urged to participate in collective cleanup campaigns to eliminate mosquito breeding grounds, with an emphasis on clearing stagnant water and garbage twice a week through the involvement of students and volunteer organizations.
