Bangladeshi worker killed in coal quarry collapse in Meghalaya

Mujibur Rahman, a 35-year-old Bangladeshi worker from Tahirpur, Sunamganj, died after being trapped in a coal quarry collapse in the Naklam area of Meghalaya, India. The incident occurred on Sunday, April 12, 2026, while he was working illegally across the border; his body was recovered by colleagues and brought back to Bangladesh on April 16, 2026, for post-mortem examination.
