Teenager killed by abandoned mortar shell explosion at Naikhongchhari border

A 12-year-old Myanmar national, Satnaing Tanchangya, was killed on June 2, 2026, when an abandoned mortar shell he was handling while farming exploded. The incident occurred in the Baishphari-Tuinjhajiri area near the Ghumdhum border in Naikhongchhari, Bandarban. Following the incident, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) increased patrols and issued safety warnings to the local population.
