Residents living in fear due to Madhumati river erosion

Residents of Longarcharchar in Boalmari, Faridpur are facing severe riverbank erosion from the Madhumati River, which has already claimed about two acres of land and threatens remaining areas. Approximately 50-60 families have been displaced or lost their homes and farmland over the years due to the ongoing erosion, which locals attribute to unplanned sand extraction.
