Two children drown in the Padma River in Chapainawabganj
Two young girls, Karima/Jasmine (8) and Israt (7), drowned in the Padma River while bathing near Bakher Ali Ghat in Charbagdanga Union, Chapainawabganj Sadar, on Friday, June 12, 2026. Local residents initially attempted a rescue, followed by the Fire Service and Civil Defense dive team who successfully recovered both bodies.
