Oil-carrying truck crashes into canal after breaking Dhamaypar Bridge railing; driver killed
An oil-carrying truck lost control and crashed through the railing of the Dhamaypar Bridge (also referred to as Dhamai Chhara) in Rajnagar, Moulvibazar, on Wednesday morning, August 12, 2026. The driver, identified as 53-year-old Rumman Sarkar (also reported as Roman Mia), died on the spot, while the helper sustained serious injuries and was hospitalized in Fenchuganj. Fire service teams from Rajnagar, Moulvibazar, and Fenchuganj conducted a joint rescue operation to recover the body and assist the injured.
