Ongoing Riverbank Erosion in Nilkamal, Chandpur

Chronic riverbank erosion along the Meghna River in Nilkamal Union, Chandpur, has led to repeated displacement for many residents, with homes, businesses, and cemeteries being lost to the river. The Water Development Board is currently performing emergency sandbagging while awaiting approval for a 237 crore BDT permanent protection project.
