Brahmaputra Express power car and rescue train derailment in Mymensingh leads to prolonged rail disruption

On June 10, 2026, the power car of the Dewanganj-to-Dhaka intercity Brahmaputra Express train derailed near Tinkona Pukurpar, College Road, and Anandamohan College in Mymensingh. A subsequent rescue train, dispatched from the Mymensingh locomotive shed, also derailed in the Krishtapur area while attempting recovery, resulting in a total suspension of rail services on the Dhaka-Mymensingh and Mymensingh-Jamalpur routes for over three hours.
