Train services on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar route resumed on July 12, 2026, after a five-day suspension caused by heavy rainfall and flash floods. A 500-meter section of the Sholashahar-Janalihat railway line near Shamsher Para was submerged under approximately 21 inches (0.53m) of water, damaging ballast foundations.
