Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's visit to Chattogram and post-flood rehabilitation in Hathazari, Fatikchhari, and Banshkhali; handover of new homes and infrastructure plans

Following flash floods in early July 2026 that caused widespread destruction to homes, ponds, and fisheries in Hathazari, Fatikchhari, and Banshkhali (Chattogram), Prime Minister Tarique Rahman conducted a rehabilitation visit between August 8-10, 2026. The mission included distributing 130 disaster-resilient houses (including 100 in Baharchhara Union, Banshkhali), housing grants of 100,000 BDT each to 30 families in Hathazari to assist in rebuilding, support for 15 persons with disabilities, and additional relief and livestock to 200 families.
