Five families left destitute in fire, Dhaka-bound lane closed for half an hour

A devastating fire in Sitakunda, Chattogram destroyed the homes of five families and one business establishment on the night of August 11, 2026. The fire, suspected to be caused by an electrical short circuit, also caused a 30-minute traffic disruption on the Dhaka-bound lane of the Dhaka-Chattogram highway. No casualties were reported as residents managed to escape.
