College student dies from lightning strike while calling her father
Rimi Akter, a 20-year-old college student, was killed by a lightning strike in Birahammadpur village of Gouripur, Mymensingh, while attempting to call her father home during a storm on Tuesday, June 23, 2026. She was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Gouripur Upazila Health Complex.
