Fly ash-laden ship at risk of sinking near the Sundarbans, beached on a mudflat

MV Shariat Ullah-5, carrying 572 tonnes of fly ash from India, developed a leak and is at risk of sinking in the Shakbaria River near the Sundarbans. Authorities have beached the vessel on a mudflat to prevent it from obstructing the navigation channel and are using pumps to keep it afloat.
