Father dies while attempting to save son from electrocution

On August 7, 2026, in Itatala village of Kalai, Joypurhat, 48-year-old Jamal Uddin died from electrocution after coming into contact with a live broken power line of a Barind pump while trying to save his son, 11-year-old Russel. Both were rescued and taken to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, where the father was declared dead and the son was admitted for treatment.
