BSF flees after scuffle with farmers at Lalmonirhat border, abandoning weapons

On August 25, 2026, three BSF members illegally entered the Bonchoki/Amjhol border area (near main pillar 907) in Hatibandha, Lalmonirhat, and assaulted local farmers. Following a counter-chase by local villagers, the BSF members retreated into Indian territory, abandoning two shotguns and one walkie-talkie which were later seized by the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).
