Over 100 houses destroyed by cyclone and hailstorm in Gangachara; Government aid being provided

A severe cyclone and hailstorm struck the Char Bagdhara area of Nuhali Union, Gangachara, Rangpur, on the night of Friday, April 17, 2026, causing extensive damage to over 100 houses. Wards 2, 7, and 8 were most severely impacted, leaving over 100 families in extreme distress. Local government authorities are conducting damage assessments and have provided emergency food aid to 35 families, with rehabilitation efforts underway.
