Body of State-awarded Fire Service diver Md. Sadik Hossain Shuvo recovered after falling into Shitalakshya River (Buried with state honors)
A 26-year-old state-awarded Fire Service and Civil Defence diver, Md. Sadik Hossain Shuvo, went missing after falling from a speedboat into the Shitalakshya River at the Narayanganj River Fire Station (Fire Jetty, Nitayganj, near Kerosene Ghat) while cleaning water hyacinths and maintaining the vessel on July 16, 2026. Following an eight-hour joint search and rescue operation by the Fire Service, BIWTA, Bangladesh Navy, and Coast Guard, his body was recovered that evening and later buried with state honors in his hometown of Goalanda, Rajbari.
