A series of collapses have hit the Brahmaputra right-bank protection embankment in Chilmari, Kurigram, starting from June 28, 2026. Significant events include the collapse of approximately 60 meters of block pitching on July 16 and a 30-meter collapse at the Kanchkol Sarak-tari area on July 20, 2026, at 7:00 PM.
