Illegal sand extraction causes riverbank erosion, destroys playground, and threatens Haimchar river embankment

Illegal sand extraction by dredgers along the Meghna River in Char Bhairabi, Haimchar, Chandpur, resulted in the total loss of a local playground and caused severe riverbank erosion, endangering a major protection embankment. Authorities intervened, arrested five individuals, and seized two vessels involved in the operation.
