Kurigram Express train derailment at Santahar Railway Junction, rail services restored

On the evening of September 7, 2026, the power car and luggage van of the Dhaka-bound Kurigram Express derailed near the rail gate of Santahar Junction station in Adamdighi, Bogura. The incident caused a suspension of rail services and blocked local traffic for 4.5 hours. Rescue operations were conducted by a relief train from Paksey. Bangladesh Railway formed a five-member investigation committee to determine the cause. No casualties were reported.
