Newborn baby girl found abandoned in Bhola Saudagar Bari, North Sonapahar, Mirsharai

A newborn baby girl was found abandoned in a plastic bag at Bhola Saudagar Bari in North Sonapahar, Zorarganj Union, Mirsharai, on June 16, 2026. Local residents discovered and rescued the infant, who was initially provided emergency care at Shefa Insan Hospital and subsequently transferred to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of Chittagong Medical College Hospital for specialized treatment. The Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) is currently overseeing the child's case and coordinating necessary protection measures.
