New erosion at the 2nd Teesta Bridge protection embankment in Rangpur

Recent erosion has caused a 20-meter collapse and a 40-foot deep hole in the protection embankment of the 2nd Teesta Bridge in Mahipur, Gangachara, Rangpur. Despite a 14 lakh BDT investment in bamboo piling, the measures failed against the strong currents caused by water release from the Dalia barrage, putting the regional bridge and Rangpur-Lalmonirhat road at risk.
