Jailbreak and Arson Attack at Sherpur District Jail

On August 5, 2024, a group of armed attackers breached the Sherpur District Jail, setting fire to documents and rooms, and looting weapons and supplies. During the chaos, 518 inmates escaped; 346 remain at large, and a significant amount of ammunition is still missing.
