Flash flood and embankment collapse inundate low-lying areas of Haluaghat, Mymensingh

A flash flood caused by heavy rainfall and runoff from the Indian Garo Hills has submerged several low-lying areas in Haluaghat, Mymensingh. Embankment collapses occurred on the Menongchhara and Boraghat/Buraghat rivers, leaving thousands of people stranded and damaging agricultural lands, including 70 hectares of Boro rice fields, and local infrastructure across 20 villages.
