Violent attack on RAB officials during operation in Jungle Salimpur

On the evening of January 19, 2026, an operation to recover illegal weapons in Jungle Salimpur, Sitakunda, resulted in an attack on Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) officials. One RAB official, Motaleb Hossain Bhuiyan, was killed, and several others were injured during the incident. The government has announced that a coordinated multi-force operation will be launched in the area to apprehend those responsible.
