A rice-laden truck carrying 13 laborers from Dinajpur to Noakhali lost control and overturned into a ditch in the Hassanpur area of Daudkandi, Cumilla, on the Dhaka-Chattagram highway early on April 13, 2026. The incident resulted in 7 deaths and 6 injuries among the workers traveling to harvest Boro paddy, reportedly while the truck was being driven by a helper. Local administration is providing support to the affected families.
