Natural gas leak and ignition from deep tube well in Belkuchi, Sirajganj

On July 9, 2026, a newly installed deep tube well in the Chala area near Belkuchi Police Station, Sirajganj, was found to be emitting combustible 'pocket gas' along with water. Locals observed bubbles and flames when ignited. Western Zone Gas Company Limited and BAPEX have been involved in assessing the situation, and the pump was shut down for safety.
