Attempted Push-in of 20 Individuals at Chapainawabganj Border Thwarted and Subsequent Removal by BSF

On the night of June 19, 2026, the BSF attempted a push-in of 20 individuals, including 11 women, 5 men, and 4 children, into Bangladesh at the Chouka border in Shibganj, Chapainawabganj. The BGB intervened, blocking the push-in, and after two flag meetings on June 20, 2026, the BSF removed the individuals back into India. The extended exposure at the zero-line caused significant illness among the stranded individuals.
